Welcome!
Touch Africa International is a non-profit, non-governmental organization founded by volunteers from EAST AFRICA, ASIA, EUROPE AND NORTH AMERICA who participated in Rotary Club International Exchange programs, missionaries, Canada World Youth programs and international community camps organized by World Corps Kenya in collaboration with UVIKIUTA (Tanzania).

During the course of their work in developing countries, these founders learned that the main cause of poverty is lack of information on developing issues, lack of capital, and lack of training in business. Research was done and a model was developed to address these problems.

TOUCH AFRICA is concerned about poverty, particularly the lack of education and economic opportunity. Our goal is to train people to be effective business entrepreneurs, community leaders and global citizens.

Four key issues of our work foundation are:
• Reducing poverty.
• Increasing global cooperation.
• Sustainable development, equality & social justice.
• Environmental conservation and protection.

Touch Africa is hereby inviting you, your organization, family and friends to be members in development work in selected parts of East Africa (Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda). Any benefit accruing from your membership will go towards sponsoring our community projects, selected orphanages and children's homes.

Touch Africa is now working in partnership with the government of Kenya through the Ministry of Culture, Gender, Sports and Social Services. The ministry is involved as a leading stakeholder working towards the contribution of a better youth, gender, cultural and social agenda. We are jointly developing project proposals that are beneficial to the gender, youth, culture and social policy for Kenya. These proposals are centered on capacity building and social mapping of rural Kenyan communities. Touch Africa and the Ministry is setting up community cultural centers in rural Kenyan communities to preserve local traditions while opening up and exposing the communities to development.

A Message From George Mumba

My life as a volunteer has been an unforgetable, enriching experience that has taken me from place to place, community to community. Most important of all to me is the internal satisfaction I have felt by being involved in contributing to a better society.

That’s why I urge all of you to join Touch Africa International and help in our community development projects in East Africa. I invite you to participate in our community camps and get firsthand exposure to issues affecting our communities, such as poverty, HIV/AIDS and the inaccessabilty to basic needs. You will meet and work with with volunteers from other parts of the world,.

With your help, we will soon be expanding our horizons to other parts of Africa, and eventually to developing countries in Asia and South America as well.

Please join and support us, either personally, institutionally or as a corporation. Our work depends on your taking this life-changing step.
